I just heard a German commentary noting that, amongst different sectors other than airliners, the European markets fell much sharper in the recent days as the U.S. markets. That shall level out.

Actually the European markets closed strongly in the green and cut the losses after 9/11 to about 11% which is worse than the Nyse with about 7% so there is room for a bit further "adjustment". I didn't buy the argument fully as the exchange rate also shifted a bit in EURs favor so we are perhaps close to even as of now.
