That there are some carriers which were not showing deep losses prior to this event, is it "us" or management of the airlines which is to blame?

Hey, Just how much should we give the airlines? How "whole" should we make companies which couldn't even make a living in times prior to the recent restrictions? The airlines are now asking for $24B!!!!! If we are paying their way to that massive degree, shouldn't there be restrictions on what they can charge for tickets & freight?

Should we mention UAL which didn't make a profit for the last 1/2 of 2000? How did the restrictions from the WTC cause those problems?
