Poet, I suspect you are correct in suspecting foul play re airline puts. This should be investigated aggressively.

On the other hand, the airlines were in extremely sick shape before this happened. Unless they change their business practices significantly, a govt bailout will just delay the demise of some.

We've had airlines (including big ones) go bust before. Someone with a better idea picks up the pieces and takes off. It's the American way.

Morgan Stanley occupied lower floors -- I'm going by the 9/13 coverage in the Austin American-Statesman here -- floor #43-46, 56 and 59 in the South Tower 2 WTC. Which, of course, was the second one hit by AA175 and the first to collapse.

Morgan Stanley, I think -- correct me if wrong -- came out losing just a few if any of their employees.

Crosses my mind that the firm itself may well have profited from the knowledge reported in the Bloomberg report.
