"low inflation" is not the same as "No Inflation". and the inflation level as measured by CPI has indeed been low given the amount of printing going on. which gets back to my point about printing paper and inflation not being one and the same.

of course, some would say the inflation really took place in asset prices, but that is the kind of inflation most people welcomed, not the kind that inspired "WIN" buttons in the 70s.
now, in the aftermath of the bubble, we'll see if the print press does indeed show up as a CPI rise instead of a DOW rise.
