anecdote trumps statistics? i don't buy it.

all statistics lie, but so do all subjective experiences. if you have trouble defining things unequivocally and empirically (what's a chair?), you can fall back on family resemblances (if it quacks like a duck...). and vice-versa...

and the 90s were no 70s when it comes to inflation, either subjectively or objectively.
