There are a number of companies working with military funding on all sorts of biological weapons countermeasures. The science is complicated, but there are LARGE overlaps between developing countermeasures to biological weapons, and to treating chemically resistant infectious disease.

DARPA was the govt agency largely responsible for creating the internet. (despite algores claims)
