Tom's Hardware page has an interesting article on a P3, a P4 and 2-Athlons all run with their heat sinks removed. Only 2 survived...

I saw that article... I was really impressed that the P4 actually kept running (albeit at lower speed). The temperatures achieved by the Athlons, however, were just frightening. Anything over 100 to 150C is really dangerous from a fire perspective.
