Collaborative Software Office of the Secretary of Defense for Command, Control,
and Communications, and Intelligence (OSDC3I) message gives go-ahead for
InfoWorkSpace deployment

BURLINGTON, Mass., Aug 20, 2001 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Ezenia! Inc.
(Nasdaq: EZEN), a leading provider of real-time collaboration solutions for
corporate networks and eBusinesses, today announced that the Department of
Defense has reiterated its acceptance of the InfoWorkSpace(TM) product as a
standard collaborative tool for defense operations. In a message released August
10, 2001, the OSDC3I cleared the way for InfoWorkSpace deployment DoD-wide, and
stated that InfoWorkSpace is part of the department's strategy for interoperable
collaborative systems.

InfoWorkSpace is a fully integrated data-, voice-, and video-conferencing
solution widely used throughout the DoD today. "The InfoWorkSpace team has
worked very hard to develop a solution that meets the requirements of the
Defense Department. We are now in our 4th year providing world-class
collaboration solutions and are extremely pleased to receive this statement of
continued support from the DoD. Ezenia! provides the best technology available
and will continue to work towards the interoperability goals that DoD desires,"
stated Randy Brooks, Vice President of Ezenia! Government Systems.

"Ezenia! is having significant momentum and success in the DoD with its entire
product line. Industry experts predict defense collaborative software will
eventually support hundreds of thousands of soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines,
government civilians, and contractors within a globally integrated work force.
From the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI), the Defense Intelligence Agency
(DIA) Joint Intelligence Virtual Architecture (JIVA), to the support being
provided to the airmen and soldiers of the US Air Force and US Army, we continue
to see increased demand for our InfoWorkSpace, IP, Web interactivity and ISDN
products. In addition, InfoWorkSpace is rapidly gaining acceptance in commercial
deployment. This increase in demand of our products in the federal and
commercial markets has put Ezenia! on the road to achieve success," stated
Ezenia! Chairman & CEO, Khoa Nguyen.

Ezenia! InfoWorkSpace(TM) Ver 2.1 Awarded Department of Defense Approval for
Use on Secure Intelligence Defense Network

Collaboration Product Receives Department of Defense's Highest
Security Accreditation

BURLINGTON, Mass., June 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Ezenia! Inc. (Nasdaq: EZEN), a
leading provider of real-time collaboration solutions for corporate networks
and eBusinesses, today announced that its newest version of the
InfoWorkSpace(TM) product has been accredited by the Department of Defense
Intelligence Information System (DoDIIS) Management Board for use on the Joint
Worldwide Intelligence Communication System (JWICS), the Department of
Defense's Top Secret Network. All previous versions of InfoWorkSpace have
received accreditation on all Department of Defense Networks.
The Defense Intelligence Agency holds 5,000 concurrent user and 40,000
Instant Messenger licenses of InfoWorkSpace.
With this announcement, InfoWorkSpace becomes the only data conferencing
product on the market that meets the high security requirements of the Joint
Intelligence Virtual Architecture (JIVA), DoDIIS and the JWICS Network. This
Top Secret Network supports all US defense-related intelligence activities
worldwide. InfoWorkSpace Version 2.1 was subjected to rigorous testing before
receiving this vote of confidence from the DoDIIS Management Board, whose
voting members come from each of the US Military Unified Commands, the
services and DIA.
In January 2001, the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Command, Control,
Communications, and Intelligence (ASDC3I) recognized InfoWorkSpace as one of
only two commercially available collaboration capabilities that met all
warfighter functional and interoperability requirements. InfoWorkSpace is the
only approved integrated product set that comes ready for deployment and use
without significant additional integration efforts from multiple vendors.
"We are extremely pleased to receive this accreditation from the DoDIIS
Management Board," said Randy Brooks, vice president of government systems for
Ezenia!. "This accreditation, in addition to the recent recognition by the
ASDC3I, places our product among the elite solutions chosen by the government
for use in its most sensitive networks. We can now ensure that our forces
around the world will have access to the latest and best capabilities of
InfoWorkSpace."
"JCE/InfoWorkSpace 2.1 has been approved for DoDIIS worldwide fielding
(DMB message, DTG 161235Z May 01) and it will be fielded on 40,000
workstations on JWICS and SIPRNET (the Secure IP Router Network).
InfoWorkSpace 2.1 is a major improvement, and I believe it will be well
received by the entire DOD Intelligence Community. I am impressed with the
direction that Ezenia is taking in continuing to enhance InfoWorkSpace and
improve its interoperability and integration with Microsoft and other
collaboration products," Colonel Kenneth Ritchhart of the Defense Intelligence
Agency said. "InfoWorkSpace allows us to collaborate on projects and
initiatives in ways we never could before. The information being shared
across our networks is mission-critical to the intelligence efforts in this
country, and the tool selected to drive that collaboration must take security
to the highest level."
