kvkkc1, I think there is some truth in what you say. Military morale has been lower and recruitment more difficult and readiness has decreased in recent years. However while there has been some negative trends the status of our military has not been in free fall. And no one but an idiot wants any kind of direct conflict with the US military.

Besides special ops I think the airborne and the two light divisions are more prepared for moody boots fighting. That gives you about 4 divisions plus the rangers and special ops. And its not like the rest of the army would be totally useless.

I'm not sure how much military retaliation will be an invasion instead of a lot of special ops operations and air attacks. I guess we will find out about in the not to distant future.
