<<tech response will be TELECONFERENCING>>

JW: That's very true...Yesterday I had lunch with a friend who runs the Chicago office of a consulting firm -- he was in a cab on the way from La Gauardia to Mid Town as the WTC was being hit....He ended up renting a car and driving back to Chicago late last week. His firmed has curtailed all travel for now (heavily using teleconferencing).

My friend Cindy recently took on a new job with McDonalds corporate acquisitions group that buys real estate for the company (and their partner brands) all over the world. She told me the McDonalds' CEO has curtailed travel for most of their 35,000 employees in the last week and they are waiting for employees traveling to get back to the HQ in Oakbrook, IL...Next week they will issue new policies about travel in light of this new environment...Lots of teleconferencing going on...Yet, at times you actually have to be there in person (especially when you are buying property)...The only McDonalds folks traveling are top execs in their corporate jets. In fact, I expect to see a surge in the use of corporate / charter jets...Shareholders will often end up paying for this BUT many high level execs will claim its essential to have more control over their travel plans (very long delays now with new security measures)...One Defense stock that may do very well in the near term could be Raytheon -- not only do they make missle systems BUT they also have a large corporate jet group (that even does charters)...The largest jet charter service in the world was bought by Warren Buffet a few years ago. Yet, Berkshire Hathaway has A LOT of insurance interests and they may have quite a bit of exposure after the WTC bombings.

Its clear that teleconferencing will be HUGE in the new world we now live in and PLCM rocketed yesterday....I expect some of the major communications and software firms to ramp up their efforts to roll out new products to fascilitate more successful remote tele/video conferencing...Stay tuned.

Regards,

Scott
