Well, that's what I did. By 1982, I was holding an assortment of closed-end funds using the most margin I could scrape together, paying 20% interest, and paying bills with by cash reserve account. But after 1987 I made the utterly disastrous decision that the future was oil and precious metals. You wouldn't believe the amount of capital that one single contract in silver futures could eat up. I guess I was acting on the false analogy of the crash and rebound of stocks. Silver just crashed and stayed crashed until this very moment. Now that digital photography is such a success, I don't see much future demand for silver. But I still hold some Pan American Silver, just in case Warren Buffet is right again <G> (I think he still holds his silver).
