Jurgen, Re: <...The cold warriors come out off their holes. First evidence in Germany: "anti-terror"-laws....Of course this is targeted against certain islamic unitings....>

If you can come up with a url easily I'd like to read more on the subject.

One of my fears is that as a result of this strike there will be excessive and unwarranted 'civil rights' law changes.

An interesting number.
The Port Authority investment in the trade center as of January 1, 1992, was approximately $1. 29 billion.

any nation that sacrifices civil liberties for security...

...deserves neither. --Benjamin Franklin

Interesting notes from Deutschland. Well today's front page of the NYTimes says that what we have done over here is suspend 'Habeas Corpus' - people can be held in jail indefinitely without charges or trial; deportation without trial; and, elimination of the appeals process.

Of course these measures only apply to legal immigrants, and would never be applied against "real" U.S. citizens ~ that would be, well... un-American.

God Bless Bunker Bush!

I feel so much safer since the attacks over here now that Dubya has stripped our air cover and coastal fleets and sent them over there to ??? to fight ??? (not sure because, we no longer have freedom of the press over here, which is good because, if they knew where our fleet was, terrorists would certainly attack us where they weren't)

Wanted, Dead or Alive : With or Without Evidence

I completely agree with Dubya, when he tells us that "making the evidence we have against ??? would jeopardize National Security", which explains why we cannot file formal extradition papers for ??? (terrorists ~ we know who they are!!!) or, indeed ~ initiate any judicial process: after all, w/o evidence, we couldn't really hold a trial, either.

Better to simply kill these people, er... "remove these targets" ~ extra-judicial assassinate them as is done in Israel, Iraq, etc. Who needs Franklin, Jefferson ~ this is, after all, "a different kind of war".

Bush declares "Crusade" ~ Islamic council responds "Jihad"

I would post my investments here to y'all but, all I have done so far this week is send huge contributions to the Baptist Church, pastors Pat Robertson & Jerry Fallwell ~ the President's own ~ in the hope that they can protect me/us from God's wrath at the United States ~ caused by secular intellectuals, feminists, homosexuals and civil libertarian lawyers working for the A.C.L.U.

...not, I am ashamed to admit to you, "Our Finest Hour" :-/
