Don't buy into Gustave's crap Carolyn... The turks are HIGHLY secular and westernized, and have been fighting their own battle against internal fundamentalist elements they claim have been supported by Iran and Syria Hawkmoon

Because that's the way European media are spinning their current "terrorist hysteria"... See, over here in Europe people don't make the subtle distinction between a Turk and an Arab --both are "Abduls"... The current terrorphobia that has been shamelessly whipped up by the media has already done more damage to Europe's immigrants than all the racist crap by far-right parties during the last five years.... I don't want to speculate what the polls would be if general/municipal elections were scheduled tomorrow. Anyway, don't be overconfident about the so-called "secularism" of Turkey. Gus.
