Pat, the government announced that it would issue Savings Bonds, like it did in the Second World War.
Still, I don't know if it will be enough.

They talk about Star Wars but our own FBI, CIA and other security agencies were not trained or
prepared for this crisis so they or whoever they may be have to place a greater emphasis on
gathering intelligence without relying so heavily on sophisticated and expensive equipment.

(I mention that I don't know who " they" are who must make decisions because the only person in the Bush
administration with military training is Colin Powell. Bush and Ashcroft both skipped VietNam and
found a place in the Reserve so I've wondered who will actually plan any strategic attack by the
United States. I mention Ashcroft because the FBI falls under Justice, and the FBI has been criticized frequently over the past few months because of incompetence.)

Last night on tv, I heard a fellow who was responsible for a recent assessment of where we
stand with our anti-terrorists profiles. I don't recall his name, but he said his group had never considered an attack by a commercial air craft. And, I don't believe they expected that the terrorists would be highly educated in many
areas. One of the terrorists had a master's degree from a German Institute in urban planning or studies.
His professor said that he was one of the best students. At the front of his thesis he inserted a page
where he wrote in Arabic that he dedicated his life to the cause.

It looks like those terrorists who knew about the air strike made money by buying puts on airlines
b4 the disaster. I'll post what I found.

PS: I hope Tiger Paw is okay. We haven't heard from him for awhile which is unusual.

I'm also worried about the Muslim uprisings in Pakistan. Last night on tv, I heard that they
were protesting any involvement by the US. The US doesn't have much room for mistakes here.

I'd like to know where all this money is going to come from?

Patricia! You know where it comes from. It's called the pot of deficit spending. Any one who opposes any kind of defense spending today would immediately be called pro-terrorist.

Along with that we need to have additional tax cuts [corporate] to stimulate the economy in these not-normal times. If you oppose that...than you're giving the terrorists what they wanted.

So make it a big deficit spending pot.
