Never, in the history of this country or any other, has such care been taken to avoid injury to civilians as it has in the last 30 years by the United States.

War is nasty business; the "military mindset" can hardly be considered at fault. War is nasty business. Our nation has, in fact, gone to great lengths to develop weaponry to conduct wars in the cleanest conceivable way.

How is it you can overlook this obvious extensive effort just to dis the military?

Yes. But.

Even in the vietnamese war serious atrocities commited by US soldiers against civilian populations were rare.

And IMO, there has been extraordinary effort to make the military aware of the benefits of a 'clean' war.
