I did not say that you started a verbal attack. I was telling Pete that the environment we are currently experiencing, what with the recent loss of many lives and the heightened tensions, made it all too easy to get into stupid, petty fights, and that is something worth taking time to avoid. Now, "Jerry's Kids" happens to be both a goad and a verbal attack. It is flat out rude, prejudicial, and very annoying. When you say things like that, you are obviously out to hurt people, and I do not understand people who consider hurting and insulting others to be a form of entertainment. Anyway, with respect to your original message. I was not calling the entirety of it stupid. I have not yet expressed any opinion, positive or negative, over the majority of your message. The jab of which I wrote was the one that went along the lines of "but I hear it's good for gaming". This was a goad. It was a troll. You typed out that footer not because you believe it to be a fact (I do not believe that your intelligence is at the low level of believing that the only strong performance point of the Athlon is in games; on the contrary, I think you are smarter than that). Normally, I wouldn't have commented. I would have simply let it go in the same manner that I ignore such childish attempts at flamebrewing in messages from anyone on this thread. But tensions have been very strongly enflamed over the past week. Something very tragedic happened, many people died, and most people in the stock market are losing money. All three of these put people into a very stressful situation, and I was hoping that conversation could remain somewhat civil. In the current environment, the smallest flame could grow vastly out of proportion. > Intel is well-positioned as a supplier to enterprise- > computing vendors, in areas of high-rel mil-spec parts, > and for fault-tolerant architectures. AMD is not. Good for them. I don't care about that at the moment. I have not given my opinion about it. You do not need to beat that horse, since that isn't our topic of conversation. It may be related, but I'm sure that GW Bush is not trying to get on the phone with Bin Laden to convert him to Christianity. Yes, they have opinions on the topic of religion, but their current tiff is not over opinions. It is over actions. > Meanwhile, if and when your little censor acts to censor > me, I will treat it as badge of honor. Does it fill you with some kind of perverse joy to go around insulting people? I mean, do you actually feel fulfilled when you make hurtful statements to people who aren't even involved in the argument? Would you feel okay if I suggested that I would feel honoured if all the members of your religion became penniless, for instance? -JC
