Besides, today it became clearer regarding how various groups of different market participants are acting in this market. At a time when many of the individual investors have reacted to the patriotic calls and have not been selling (many brokerage companies report) the institutional investors have not only sold heavily but are also shorting stocks. A temporary prohibition on shorting had been discussed by the SEC late last week, but it was decided that the equity markets could stabilize without those extreme measures.

To all the institutions selling and shorting today and yesterday...as well as the small time shorters...

Nice going guys, you should be proud of yourselves. You just gave the terrorists an INCREDIBLE amount of satisfaction and pleasure. They got exactly what they wanted. Too bad you were too greedy to stand up and fight the evil. Or at least just to stand aside.
