I would like to see us retaliate without firing a single shot. I would like us to run this investigation as the most important prosecution in our history. Compile the evidence and present it to the world until it is irrefutable who is responsible for the attack.
If it is Bin Laden and his network, world pressure needs to be brought to bear on the countries that harbor them and force them to give them up. Not by threat of war, but by the sheer weight of the evidence and the shame it represents. This needs to be done on a world stage in the bright glare of a free press.

We should be relentless in this process and continue to gather new evidence each day and present it with the request that they release them, either to us or one of the other middle eastern states, for trial and punishment.

If it is the right way to treat a criminal in the US, it is the right way to treat a criminal outside the US.

It is the only way we can avoid a tit for tat war of endless retaliation. Look at Northern Ireland. Look at Israel and Palestine. These conflicts go far back into antiquity and there seems no way to resolve who hit who first. So it goes on for years and the bloodshed mounts.

If after we have gathered all the evidence and they still won't give them up, then and only then, should we use force to go in and get and them and bring them to justice. Justice...NOT REVENGE.

Peace and Love to all.

It's just too bad, and I think the diabolical cynic might even put forth a plan that would have them eliminate each other, but that is not our way. It has taken generations to get here, so it cannot be undone in a month or a year, but a start soon would be good. Give the people something to live for, and the desire for more will take care of the rest, in time.
