Nope... never have been... never will be... but Arabian Americans are... and so am I. Do you really think these people give a shet about the Bill of Rights? Never said they did... I only said that we as Americans should... and that in our zeal to punish these fanatics that we Americans shouldn't give up our own Rights in the process.People are waging war at us and you blather on about the Bill of Rights? Yes... I do... because without the Bill of Rights, America becomes no better than those fanatics. Oh brother...me thinks you just have an axe to grind about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights... No Jim, you've missed the point entirely, and you're putting words in my mouth. I am trying to understand your point of view, and if I ever miss something, or misinterpret your words, I hope you'll set the record straight. I do not, however, see you affording me the same courtesy. I am more afraid of internal over-reaction than external terrorism. Yes, we need to prepare a well-calculated devastating response to begin the worldwide shutdowns of terrorists cells. I do NOT want to see my rights and the rights of my fellow Americans trampled on in the process. America has been through wars in the past... there was a "little spat" about 60 years ago that I remember dragged on for a while and resulted in some loss of life... maybe your recollect as well. Yes, people are waging war against us, and it's not a nice neat war with well-drawn battle lines and clear enemies... it's a shadow war which doesn't play well on TV. Every time America has been attacked in the past, America responded with it's best. America was allegedly attacked because it is a beacon of freedom. I buy into that explanation. America is a beacon of freedom because documents like the Bill of Rights, and the ideals they represent form the cornerstone of the national consciousness. It is therefore COMPLETELY appropriate to focus on those freedoms and liberties which made America a target in the first place as it is those very freedoms that are under attack. If you don't understand that, please tell me what is not plain and I will do a better job of communicating...
