Question was asked about some of the voice applications possible...

************************

There are so many i could not list them all:

ASR: Any VoiceXML web site for transaction purpose: airline/car/ hotel reservation and verification, stock transaction, voice dialing, conference room reservation, directory assistance, Unified Messaging navigation and interaction, etc.

Authentification: voice biometry instead of password or keys for a multitude of applications (security range from 95 to 99.99%). Since you know which template to compare it to, you can have billions of template in a database.

speaker identification: you can identify the speaker on a line within a few minutes with a sample of only 60 seconds of his voice!! this is what police organization and secret services are after. Since you want to match a voice template to a speaker, then the technology usually can only support a few thousand persons in their database to identify.

It is important to note that voice biometry is possible with or without customer knowing it! all you need is about 30 to 60 continuous seconds of recording of their voice to generate templates to be used in either above techno.

The potential of speech technology mixed with Infospace offering is HUGE.. just need time to commercialize it and generate the appropriate alliances and revenues.. then the stock will hopefully go back up!

xxx,
Good observation! Indeed, the Liaison (Enterprise) business unit of LocusDialog has been spun-off from InfoSpace. Please find attached a short summary of the transaction. As a whole, our relationship with INSP is that they will be supplying the speech recognition engine on which the Liaison product sits through a partnership/OEM agreement.

Can I in turn ask you about your interest in LocusDialog?

For any other questions/comments, please don't hesistate to contact me,

Best regards,

LocusDialog: Sharpened Corporate Focus Supported by New Product Release

Effective 6 July 2001, LocusDialog, previously an InfoSpace company, has re-established itself as privately owned LocusDialog Inc.
Headed by Chief Executive Officer Richard Martel, LocusDialog will focus its corporate endeavours on the design, creation, and marketing of call routing products and solutions for the enterprise sector. Specifically, the company's efforts will be entirely concentrated on delivering the renowned Liaison(tm) speech-enabled call routing system as its marquee offering to enterprise customers.
Additionally LocusDialog is increasing its international market footprint via ongoing strategic alliances with major global telecom manufacturers.
CEO Martel emphasizes that the company is now autonomous from its former corporate parent InfoSpace, a provider of Internet infrastructures and services. LocusDialog's re-emphasis as a distinct corporate entity will allow it to fully leverage its established industry strength: that of a premiere provider of enterprise telephony call routing solutions that integrate the latest in advanced, standards-based speech recognition technologies.
In line with this is the company's recent release of the newest version of the renowned Liaison(tm) speech-powered call routing system.
Liaison(tm) version 6.0 is an even more cost-effective tool with which the workforce (especially the mobile professional) can improve productivity in today's demanding market conditions; it incorporates several system enhancements and powerful new options:
* The voice biometrics-based Speaker Verification (SV) module allows users to add a business-critical layer of security and control to telephony resource access.
* Callers can set up conference calls and redirect calls with simple voice commands.
* Users can conveniently create personal speech-activated directories and menus using their MS Outlook contact list.
SV-secured, speech-powered access to telephony resources from anywhere and using any phone now provides enterprises with the ability to significantly lower remote telecommunications costs.
With its corporate repositioning LocusDialog maintains its enterprise-wide dedication to quality and quality products that incorporate innovative product and application development, effective deployment, and unique, ahead-of-the-curve sales and technical support programs.
