No Irony taken, I just think that "hundi" is not practical when big sums of money are involved. I would assume that about 200 or more El Qeiba agents are financed just in the US, each of these agents must cost at least $100,000/year, that is a tidy $20 MM annually, no Kabuli cousin, or even 10 such cousins has that kind of "moula" to spread around. There must be some sizeable funds transfers occurring to support that kind of organization.

I heard on the radio this morning that the Talibans have decreed that any Afghan showing signs of siding with the US [not sure what that means] will get his house burnt down.
