The War Against Terrorism is an absolute must. The country has no choice. But it will not be easy like Operation Desert Storm. It will be worse than Vietnam ! Vietnam was an unseen enemy in a known place, and you could not tell friend from foe ! The War against Terrorism will be a war against an unseen enemy in an unknown place. The terrorists came from all over the Middle East. So the terrorists will be unknown faces in unknown countries. Yes we can bomb Afghanistan into the Stone Age to get revenge for the WTC. But this will not end terrorism. Because bin Laden and the terrorists have probably already fled and melted into Pakistan and other Mid Eastern Countries. In the short term, all that we can achieve is to invade Afghanistan, install a new government, which will prevent Afghanistan from being a sanctuary for terrorists. Flushing out the terrorists dispersed all over the Mid East will be a long drawn out war, like the Drug War. I hope that we have better success.
