PK, Alas, their composite bows, the most technologically advanced weapon in the world in the 13th century, became somewhat obsolete once cannon became commonplace. Besides which, they had a tendency to become as depraved as the civilized folks they conquered once they were in charge and were no longer able to ride their little ponies all day and night on a pint of yogurt. Still, it has been said that the English longbow of Agincourt would have won any battle up to and including Waterloo (the English bowmaking and bow shooting capabilities faded during the 100 years war). And the Mongol bow had greater range and accuracy, plus is was fired from horseback.
