I don't get your post. My point was "do any people who are against our 2nd Amendment right see that there may be circumstances where an armed populace could be beneficial?" Many of them have attributed that argument to right wing nuts and insisted that we are perfectly safe. Was wondering if the tragedy of September 11 changed any of those opinions.

I was in CA during the Oklahoma bombing btw.

Where were the screeners when terrorists boarded planes, where were secure doors on commercial airliners, where was the INS when visas expired, where were intelligence agencies when warnings were coming? Much more pertinent questions than where was an armed citizen to stop the OK City bombing.

OTOH you have the right to be unarmed and helpless. That way no one will blame you for not preventing some act of violence, either against the country, a stranger, or you and your family.

If the question was rhetorical, consider the answer in the same vein.
