Mike I have been nibbling into longer term calls for a few days, hedged with OCT puts. Todau wsas not pretty as I sold the last of my puts and am now entirely long.

Calls are Jan-Feb but after today are quite a bit underwater. Fortunately it is only about 10% or so of my account.

Catalyst. We need CSCO to report an uptick in orders.
Some of these tech issues actually seem reasonable to me.

IRF (almost bought today but glad I held off)
EMLX
JNPR
NTAP
CRA
KEM
SEBL

Hell who knows
RMBS is perhaps in a squeeze right now.

screw it all and just buy QQQ calls?

mike, did you see that story about fed helping prop up the markets? If so, then the down trend continues when they stop.
In any case I think it's awful for avg. investors who look at tue. being stable (ie. buying opportunity)when the vix shows reality. I sometimes think these small % index changes over time are worse than a big drop.
