I know I was actually being too specific, thinking of Abraham and Isaac.

Whereas many Christians condemn people to eternal hell who don't repent
Funny you should mention that. In another life let us say, I had occasion to spend a lot of time with young adult reborn Christians (I was much younger too at the time).
What struck me in our conversations was the outright dismissal of Catholicism due to the sacrament of confession (reconcilation) among a few other things. You know we Catholics, can do whatever we want and then ask forgiveness :o) Right.....

What was very curious to me was twofold: 1-They would argue that it didn't matter what they did in life as they had 'accepted Jesus into their hearts'. Sounds like a better deal than confession to me.
2- That it was a closed system and no non Christians had a chance at heaven. Those darn nuns taught me differently, must have been progressives LOL.
I will qualify the experience by saying that these were many troubled young adults so as not to generalize too much but I have had similar conversations in more recent times.

How does Christianity look to the average Muslim in the streets of Cairo (or wherever)?
Well they have Coptic Christians there ( another spinoff sans the Roman influence). I believe that is one of the issues in Sudan, they are on one side of the civil war. Similar problems in Ethiopia / Eritrea and Somalia......
