Some of us (and I include myself) were not bright enough to suppose that there were so many other people, even less bright than we, who would keep that insanity going as long as it did (and still does, as far as I am concerned).

The market had already taken leave of its senses in 1997, and as of right now the Dow still has a P/E of something more than 22, or about double the historical average. We are still in "the new era."
