2.5 G is being deployed in Japan. There is some 2.5G deployment in Europe and isolated regions in the US also. All those additional web based services are part of the 2.5 specification. There is also UTMS floating around. This is all a precusor to the 3G deployment. Really 3G deployment does not happen till 2003 at the earliest if the projections are accurate. We all know what that is worth.

Most of the growth for NOK is in the 18 to 26 year age group. They change their phone on average every 18 months. You need new services to get those people to switch. My brokerès son says that text message is the hot fade right now. Most of their bread and butter is still the low level entry phone, but the definition of low level entry is being re-defined every year.
