One thing I can't figure out? Where is all the money the Fed is pumping in going? The bank sure isn't lending it out? Investors aren't investing it? Where is it going? Under mattresses?

Cap Gains cut is a stupid idea right now. Maybe they could better serve the consumer by allowing you to carry losses Backwards for a refund. Rather than the carryfoward to future gains, or the $3000 limit if no gains.

All this corporate welfare talk is disturbing. Granted the airlines are in bad shape, but maybe the airlines need to cut executive salary and option grants first. Freeing up many tens of millions in cash flow right there.

How about a CLEC bailout too? They've been damaged by the economy.

More Random thoughts....

Mike...Here is what I see taking place...It will take 3 to 6 months to put in place a reporting (spy) network in Afghanistan and else where.

Now the advantage is ours. I think that battalion size attacks are in order. (based on specific information). Now the advantage is ours. Given that Afghanistan is the size of Texas, the Taliband has no idea if we will attach on the Louisiana or the Oklahoma part of the country. The battalion size mission would be a search and destroy mission with no intention of holding territory.

The Taliband call to arms rings hollow...they don't know where we are going to attack and have poor mobility. Advantage USA.

Without saying as much the Bush administration has already targeted the Taliband governing part of Afghanistan. Right now the risk for the Bush administration is saying too much and doing too little.
