I am willing to negotiate on this one. The pledge is not a coercion of a confession of faith, but a pledge of allegiance to the United States of America.

I guess it would be like a slippery slope kinda thing, though. Next the oath to tell the truth in court would have to be amended to so help me, me. Or something.
