Hi Tom; <OT> I saw the film and enjoyed it , while some of it was overly dramatize
in ways I considered foolish ( being an old fisherman ) it captured the sprit and life
style much better than I ever thought they could.
--------------
(1) The fish ( stabalizer ) on the end of the out rigger hitting the windows..
( those are lowered via fat boy blocks with a stopper on the end and
the chain is not left long enough to let it hit the boat. )
(2) No one can hang onto an out rigger that has broken it's hold
down chain and is jumping up and down.

(3) They left out the one thing that most likely had the most to do with her
sinking. ( She was just about at the end of her trip and the fuel tanks
were low enough that the sludge in the bottom of the tanks which is
below the suction lines gets washed around so much in heavy seas
when the tanks are low; and it mixes with the fuel and you get to
where you can't change fuel filters fast enough to keep the engines
running. In short she most likely finally lost her engines from stopped
up fuel fiters and couldn't even pump out.)

Most often the fight to survive in a storm winds up in the engine room
or back in the rudder room. And that could have been dramatized
better and more realistic than the outrigger thingy.
---------------

Now about the market, the early sell off today worried me as not only was
it falling fast; the VIX was moving lower at the same time, well the VIX
reversed and moved up now so I don't think it's as bad as it first
looked.
The vix has to stay high for several days & not just pop down on the first sign
of a bounce..I want to see the VIX go up faster than the market drops
and hang above 30 for a while , I want to see a rally every one doubts
& not one where the bulls quickly through caution to the wind,
other wise we just keep sinking deeper into the quicksand.
