There will always be innocuous entanglements, I agree with you- their innocuousness depends on how people handle them. Some entanglements seem innocuous, but in a given community can start really horrible arguments and fracture communities. And it is difficult to know how, when or why these things start. It is hard to predict exactly what will do it- but religion is most often involved, because we are so diverse, and we do not understand one another perfectly. So, I believe in minimizing in the governmental arena those things that are, or can be, divisive.
