GFMS says it expects output to slow in the second half of the year but predicts full-year production will be bolstered by the stronger first half and production for the 12 months is seen coming in 1.1% up on last year.

Philip Klapwijk, GFMS MD, said: "Contrary to the widely held expectation of a sharp drop in global gold production, GFMS do not yet expect an annual decline in global production this year."
