Interesting. Didn't know about that Jeff Vinick episode. As I implied, most of these guys are just looking for the nearest rock to crawl under.

Mutual funds have specific covenants which specify their objectives and modus operandii such as how much cash they can hold, whether they invest purely in American companies, whether they can use arbitrage, etc. I'm not sure that the changes that you would like can be initiated in an existing fund without a proxy vote of shareholders.

This is just another case of screw the public. They tell us to do our patriotic duty by using our cash reserves to buy stocks. Of course they dont tell us that they will be selling while we get sucked in. And then they will be back at even lower prices after we capitulate due to psychology or margin calls.
