I am thinking about Middle East policy
it is horribly complicated
our recent policy is to "walk away"
that is shortsighted, wrong, dangerous, ineffective

in no way do I support those who want to destroy Israel
in no way do I tolerate asinine comments like HorseGirl's
speak out in any way against anything related to Jews or policies toward Jews or to Jewish State, and one is labeled as a Jew-hater
I throw it in her face

I have many Jewish friends and acquaintances
her persecuted type of behavior is evident in a few of them
they lose friends and fail to advance any Jewish cause
it represents one-dimensional thinking (not very deep)

we must adopt almost a constant mediation role
have a permanent Middle East negotiator

the risks rose by an order of magnitude with the recent Israeli Prime Minister
he was such a small man with such a hardline combative nature,
that I forget his name
can anyone remember this inconsequential highrisk man's name?
Baruk or something like that
he didnt offer any constructive that I could see in his entire term
apparently, neither could the Israeli voting public

we must consider some aid to Arab states that are not gatekeepers to oil supplies
this is a foreign thought
we must aid constructive nations like Jordan, a critical liaison nation
I wouldnt be surprised if we aided Jordan

the encroachment of the West Bank by settlements is something we should openly vigorously

the one area I have been most unimpressed with Dubya Bush is with ignoring the Middle East
he wont anymore
but he is likely to simply get tough with Palestine

reminds me of "Get Tough on Crime"
that other totally ineffective American attitude
it wins votes and accomplishes nothing
yeah, three felonies in Texas gets Life Imprisonment

we need to get smart about our foreign policy
not get tough, get smart
