does it make sense for this act of terrorism alone to do this? in many ways, no. then again, what has made financial sense for the last 4 years? SB, Clearly nothing made financial sense to me during the last four years. My market performance is living proof. however, folks have been fast and loose for so long that this incident may be the one that changes behavior to safe mode from extravagant mode. I do not believe spending on home entertainment and nearby entertainment is fast and loose. It is far less costly than travel using reasonable comparisons. Areas that seem to benefit although clearly will not offset the slow down in tourism dollars are: Local golf courses Golfing equipment retailers and manufacturers Home remodeling and furnishings Possibly (this is a real stretch) automobile sales but not near term for sure. Home Depot see above. I am certain there are many more.
