Oh, fine. Even trickle companies are directly feeling the situation. Probably the first of many such warnings to come: Trickle holding QGENF ships a lot of stuff by air, so guess what . . .

>>NEW YORK, Sept 20 (Reuters) - Qiagen N.V. (NasdaqNM:QGENF - news), which makes products for separation and purification of nucleic acids, said on Thursday it expects its third-quarter results to be below expectations because of shipment delays in the wake of the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon.

The Dutch company said it expects earnings of 4 cents a share on sales of about $63 million. It said it believes the disruption in overnight shipping services will be temporary and should not harm results for the following quarters.

As delivery standards currently cannot or can only partially be met, Qiagen customers suspended a significant amount of work requiring nucleic acid purification. Many large research institutions also remained closed for several days following the Sept. 11 hijacked jetliner attacks. As a result, Qiagen saw a steep drop in shipments and orders in the United States, Europe and Japan.<<
