it's not like the hi-tek layoffs though. My layoff from nortel was heaven sent and provided me with a double income for quite a while. for boeing and the other industry workers losing their jobs now, these are special skills... much harder to transfer. It will be a very tough period for these ex-employees. I hope they see the opportunity to explore new career paths for a bit. The industry will recover and the jobs will return. Some exposure to non-related fields might prove useful in the long run. Hopefully it will for most. m
