Yes, that has been mentioned. I saw a reporter from CNN who was stationed with those resistance fighters. He said there were about 15,000 soldiers and 15,000 more that would fight if they had to. THey seem to be poorly supplied with arms,etc. And, like you mentioned, their leader was just assassinated. What I wonder is how many would defect if they were an ally to the US. It's one thing to fight for their own freedom, but it's another to fight a country that is involved in a Jihad and hated by other Moslems.
