International Reaction, Country-by-Country

Tim, it seems whenever there is a crisis, there are people whom you least expect that rise to the occasion. In this crisis, I think L. Bush is one of those people. I have been blown away with how she quietly just moves into situations and very effectively soothes people. She seems to have a lot of depth.

Had you noticed at all?

International Reaction

FRANCE: Defense Minister Alain Richard said France was confident the United States would react responsibly to last week's terror attacks, but he cautioned against using force alone to retaliate. "We must use it in a way that doesn't provoke other elements of instability," he said. President Jacques Chirac meets Bush at the White House on Tuesday.

Tim, you had me worried there...I thought France might really take a stance this time. Naaah, just wishful thinking.

BTW Chirac met with Bush today. Chirac spoke in French to insure that he would not have to agree to anything.
