I think the great EWave debate about the tech decline from Sep 1, 2000 is resolved. We are in a wave 5. This has enormous implications going forward. A 5 wave corrective decline is very likely the first leg (the 'A' of 'ABC') of a 'zigzag' correction. In the long-term, one should expect further decline, and then a wonderful countertrend rally lasting many months, perhaps more than a year, and finally, another decline that would be the brother of the current 5 wave move that should take the NASDAQ down to 500-700, certainly well under 1000. That might not sound very far from here, but after a corrective rally to something like 2400, it's quite a decline.
