That Would Have The Appearance Of Being Wrong

Much cleaner to sell your shares in the market whilst the companies purchase of shares is propping up the price.

Can you imagine what havoc it would bring if executives had the company buy shares at the close, and thereby artificially increase the closing stock price, on days upon which the closing stock price was a major determinant of the award under an executive compensation plan. <gg>
