agreed. this actually brings up a point that I probably should have stressed. One needs to distinguish between news and commentary. So I would cite, for example, the facts in an Economist article as a highly credible source of information, while I would classify an Economist leader the same way I would an op-ed--opinion that may or may not be worth much.
