The problem I see with gold is that there just isn't any real demand for it. Since we dropped off the "gold standard" in the early 1970's world economies have grown tremendously. We couldn't go back to the gold standard even if we wanted to! Just simply add up all the physical gold..... multiply by it's current price... and you get only a fraction of the worlds total capitol base! What's fun to look at is if you took all the physical gold in the world and put it into one room. You could easily put it in one small house!
