Sideways action is OK for the type of people who invest in stocks that pay hefty dividends. If the stocks stop paying dividends, the stocks will lose their investors, period. Right now, an investor could get some upside price potential as well as a dividend. That makes the automakers fairly attractive. The airlines (except UAL) a bit less so.

Automakers and airlines never have been momentum plays. Sideways action might be the future of many NAZ stocks, too, no matter how low they get.
