nearly any rifle ammunition will penetrate a level II vest, the kind worn by police in most cases. My nephew is a sheriff and has a vest with a trauma plate (ceramic) that might resist some rifle ammo but is very restrictive. The cop killer bullet ruse was about handgun ammo and I've given you another bit of info. Interestingly it was to allow cops to penetrate autos with handguns to engage suspects. You see the ruse to ban armor piercing ammo would ban nearly all hunting rounds, quite a coup for the anti-gun crowd, ban the ammo, let em keep the useless guns. Not likely. The fact that you are inclined to believe these myths is obvious and the fact that you think voting against these mis-guided laws is a stain on Cheney. Not hardly, he is the VP (thanks in part to the NRA) based on these keen observations about bad law. Oh, did I mention the police took down these two guys you mention with weapons (semi-automatic AR-15's, a civilian version of the M-16) loaned to them by a local gun store.
