Ted Re..What I said is that the military in general doesn't usually show a great deal of concern for civilians. I think last week was an extreme example of that supposition, but then again, the perpetrators were extremist. That doesn't mean that the military is always unconcerned about civilians. <<<<<<<<<<<<<

Have you ever considered that comparing the US military or any military to those extremist thugs is reprehensible. I honestly don't know of any military where they used civilian aircraft loaded with civilians to bomb another country; much less accusing the US military of treating civilians like that.

Harry, I said that the terrorists most likely perceived their attack on the WTC as a military exercise. I am sorry that you find that any comparison of the terrorist attack to the military in general, or to the American military specifically to be reprehensible.

But let me ask you a question....do you think it matters to the dead whether it was a plane, or a missile that did them in? You may find a certain honor in using a missile rather than a loaded plane to do the deed but so what. To me, the important issue here is how do we accomplish our mission with the least loss of lives.

There is no honor in war.....war is the killing of people, the destruction of property, the corruption of the land. The only honor to be found is whether you are fighting for the right stuff or not....and that fight does not always require military intervention.
