Permit me, please, to say something on gas guzzling. There are other countries that are snowy, have disabled people and other necessities that a SUV covers and they don't have as many SUV as the US does.

Lets be honest. We really don't like 'shit-boxes' do we? No. We don't. If we can afford the big car we buy them and find a justification to own it. (I can do with a VW Golf here in Europe. But use a Ford Mondeo just because it is good to drive)

Whatever justification we give to buy the car, it doesn't change a zilch of the fact that the bigger cars guzzle more fuel and put all of us on more dependency of the OPEC Gulf States.

The North Sea oil -that made us less dependent on the Gulf States oil- is drying up. As it dries up, -it is there in today's WSJ Europe- the Arabs will harder squeeze our balls. And the squeeze will get strong and stronger as the alternative sources of oil disappear.

Nigeria, Gabon, Equador and Indonesia -they weren't in the WSJ article- they are have also dwindling reserves. Time will come when we are not going to afford to run on anything bigger than a 'shit-box'.
