yes, Saddam was behind the assassination attempt at Bush pere. But there was clear evidence that emerged regarding that, and it was an entirely different kind of operation from either WTC attack. So few see any connection. As for motives, lots of people have motives--just like lots of people have capabilities. The trick is to look at who is at the intersection part of that venn diagram.

re Iraqi troops massing on the Jordanian border, I haven't heard of it--just like I haven't heard of an Israeli assault on the West Bank. The middle east is full of rumors, but few of them are true. Sticking to the mainstream press will make you miss a few of the things that fly below the radar, but give you a fairly high degree of confidence that what you are discussing is actually there.
