Now the REAL test would be, imagine if Clinton (Mr or Mrs) was President. Same reaction?

I am pretty sure I posted no sniping anytime troops were in harms way the past 8 years.

I think Gore would have been just fine in a crisis. It was his peace time policies that worried me.

I don't think there is any question about the fact that I would have supported Mr. Gore equally, and left any critical comments between my own ears. I understand and believe your sentiment and am sure that most feel the same way.

I have started to put these folks on ignore. They really do not have anything of value to say.

Whether it is Richie, accusing the president of creating a diversion to deflect criticism, and then trying to back away from it; Or Toilet Paper lying (proven) and sniping; or that sphincter guy, displaying his superior knowledge about how to lead the country; or the nuke'em crowd. All of these folks have a demonstrated ignorance of the circumstances, and an inability to think through the potential ramifications of their own or any potential presidential actions.

I have thought about putting folks on ignore a lot, I dont generally like to do it. Like the KKK, paying attention to them is what they want, giving them more than they deserve.

That must be a disturbing realization about Gore. I wouldn't presume to suggest you could be lying, but I'm not even sure I would be supporting Gore as much as I support Bush right now. Either of them would probably have the same public face, the same anger, determination, gravity. The important thing is what's going on behind the scenes, the internal debate about the appropriate response(s), the information they are evaluating, their haste(or lack thereof), their ability to pursuade and inspire confidence among our allies, galvanize the public, make the right economic moves. Gore might have been fine in the Oval Office, or addressing Congress, but I try to envision what it might have been like to see Gore among those firemen at Ground Zero and I have to wonder whether he really has the personal skills, the ability to show his heart and just be a regular guy, cuz that's also pretty important right now.

Although I stand by my original statement, regarding keeping any sniping between my own ears, if Gore had been President; and although I belive that you and others would do the same;

after thinking it through a bit more, I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad Gore is not president.

I think had he been elected, we would have seen a large if not mass exit from the military, due to his campaign to toss military votes in Florida.
